Name: Laura
Age: 29
Location: Buffalo, NY, USA
What's in your journal: A healthy mixture of fangirling, bitching about real life crap, talking about my day-to-day activities (and social life, should I ever get one), reminiscing, being ridiculous, posting long, obnoxious picspams. Yeah, that's me.
What rating is your journal: I want to say NC-17, but in truth, it's probably closer to PG-13 to R, for strong language and explicit writing (I actually have a tag in my journal called "libido overload"), though actual porn/nudity is usually always behind a well-warned el jay cut.
I refer to the general population as "bitches" a lot, too. Like, "That's right, bitches, my cat just peed in the laundry basket again!" I do this on Spacebook and el jay quite a bit.
Favourite Sherlock series/movie(s): RDJ's version (both movies), followed VERY closely by the BBC Sherlock series with Benedict "Cheekbones" Cumberbatch. HNNNNG to both!
Favourite Sherlock character(s): Sherlock, of course (lovingly referred to as "Lerlock" in my journal ♥). Watson, by default (not-so lovingly referred to as "Dr. Donkey Balls"). Mycroft in ALL his gorgeous incarnations, whether he has mutton chops down to his bellybutton, a fetish for umbrellas, or a penchant for walking around the estate naked. Lestrade (loving referred to as "G-String" by my best friend and me, cofounders of the L.U.L.L. -- Lestrade's Underpants Liberation League) gets an honorable mention. And I have to say, I like the characters that Sherlocks antagonizes, too, including Mrs. Hudson ("NANNY!") from RDJ's Sherlock, and ANDERSON (♥ He has his very own underpants liberation league, too!) of BBC Sherlock fame.
Is this the part where I mention that I'm a bit, well, cray? Hmm. Yeah.
Favourite Sherlock pairing(s): Um. I don't really ship anyone. That being said, I don't...NOT ship anyone, either (meaning seeing pairings of characters doesn't give me flames on the side of my face. Truth be told, I'm kind of a honey badger about it). I'm not into slash, but my best friend is, so I slash for her, if that makes sense? I appreciate how slashtastic the fandom is, too. ♥
Interests/Hobbies outside of fandom: Hobbies...OUTSIDE of fandom? *slow blink* What?!
Hmm, learning Italian through Rosetta Stone (it works, I swear), writingbad gratuitous fan fiction (I participate in NaNoWriMo every year) but not related to the Sherlock fandom (which makes it a moot point that I write it at all, huh, especially since I RARELY share what little I DO write! /Laura fail), I play on Pottermore, um...gee, I should be good at this, huh. IDK. Hanging around in my jammies after work, watching bad TV. I work nights, so this means the morning/early afternoon for me.
Friending policy: Either comment to my Friend's Only post or here, and I'll add you. I PREFER people who, you know, ACTUALLY STILL POST ON LIVEJOURNAL. Seriously. Everyone's pretty much abandoned ship for places like Tumblr...so...if you don't post semi-regularlysays the girl who's posted a grand total of three times in December BECAUSE I SUCK then I probably won't be interested.
...does that make me sound like a bitch? I'M NOT, I PROMISE! ♥ ♥ ♥
Where to add you: (lj, tumblr, dw, etc) You can find me on Spacebook, Tumblr, Twitter, and GetGlue. If you're already on Pottermore, feel free to add me there, too. I'm RoseCharm46, and yes, I'm in Slytherin. I didn't mean to be, but now that I'm there? PERFECT FIT, PLEBES.
What you do in fandom: This is beginning to feel like an essay-style test that I forgot to study for...um...I...fangirl? IDK! I AM SO BAD AT THESE AND I APOLOGIZE. D:
I lurk, I guess. I comment and squee when necessary. I reblog a lot (and post some) on Tumblr. I get into these long, rambling rp-style comments with other fangirls on Facebook or GetGlue over people like Sherlock Holmes and Severus Snape. I annoy my coworkers with constant talk about my fandoms/crushes. I alienate my real life friends who understand NOTHING about fangirling, and are all married with, like, three kids and tell me that my crushes are all ugly...I mean, oh wait! WAIT A MINUTE. IS THIS NOT MY OWN PERSONAL THERAPY SESSION?! My bad.
Other fandoms you like: SO MANY, OMG. Michael Jackson gets an honorable mention. I've wanted to marry this guy since the Lisa Marie Presley days (and tbh, she's still a sore fucking subject with me), and I talk and post about him A LOT, both in el jay, and on Tumblr...mostly things about histen inch penis. Additionally, EVERY SINGLE ENTRY I post will have what is lovingly referred to as a "Daily (Michael Jackson) Macro". These are almost ALWAYS inappropriate and/or offensive. They are NOT el jay cut.
IF YOU ARE A HATER...just keep it to yourself. You don't have to love the guy (or even like him) to be my friend, but from one fangirl to another, I'll respect YOUR fandoms/crushes/celebs if you respect MINE.
/Michael Jackson ramble
Harry Potter has to be mentioned. Severus Snape is in my harem, of course. Robert Downey Jr. is someone I openly lust after (not just as Lerlock, either -- DAT ASS OMG). Christopher Walken is amazing, particularly when he's playing a mobster. Supernatural gets some love, too (♥ Dean). I guess I should mention that the only shows I'm actively following this season are: CSI, CSI:Miami, Dexter, House MD, and Supernatural.
Other comms you like:
mjdaily,
shamone_mj,
holmeswatson09. I co-mod the first one (and do the Friday Discussion Posts! Yes, I have my VERY OWN tag over there, which may or may not be called, "Laura is a ho". Hmm.), wish the second one was more active like it used to be (I guess Michael's not cool anymore that the news of his death has worn off? IDK.), and occasionally squee/lurk in the third.
Anything else you'd like to share: Yeah, I take care of my parents, who are both in...various states of iffy health (mom has Stage four breast cancer with bone metastases and dad had an above-knee amputation), and I post about them quite a bit, and sometimes the posts are a bit...well, srs bsns. Fandom is my escape.
Gah, I always think I come off sounding so obnoxious and bitchy in these things! I'm not, I SWEARokay, I'm obnoxious at times...but endearingly so!. I'm so nice, really! My GOD, you all look like you're in shock after reading this, so here, have a blanket! ♥
As you may or may not have noticed, I tend to write A LOT. D:
